Adox CHS 100 II
Adox CHS 100 II is an ortho-panchromatic black and white film with classic grain structure and a sensitivity with optimal gray scale separation. The film is unique in that it has two separate emulsions in a single layer coating and provides a high exposure width.
Its classic sensitivity contributes to harmonious tonal separation and surpasses modern films by distinguishing between different elements such as lips/face, clouds/sky and water/ground. Coated on clear archival PET, ADOX CHS 100 II can undergo reverse processing, including plate films that can be retouched with photo inks.
The tinted backing layer acts as a protection against the light peeping effect inherent in polyester-based films. Although this effect has been significantly reduced, ADOX CHS 100 II, like all PET-based films, should be protected from bright light when the film tongue is out. Otherwise, light can penetrate through the base and cause a blur at the beginning of the film.
